Plain Desiccators are suitable for general-purpose drying and storage applications using an appropriate desiccant. Vacuum Desiccators are designed for applications where reduced pressure is required, and are particularly useful for drying moist materials and storing moisture-sensitive substances. Vacuum configurations may be supplied with a vacuum connection/stopcock depending on the selected model.
